HUGE PIE FOR AMERICA
A huge July fair gooseberry pie is to be transported from Mansfield (Notts) to Mansfield (Massachusetts) as part of a scheme to establish a bond of fellowship between the two towns. A party of Mansfield residents will accompany the pie and other specimens of the town’s manufacture to their namesake town in America, where a civic reception has been arranged for July 27.
