SOCIAL PROGRESS

A pleasant bridge and five hundred afternoon was given recently by Airs. George McGill and her- daughter, Airs. Walker, at the pavilion of the Alount Victoria Croquet Club, as a result of which the funds of the club will benefit considerably. Alembers and friends enjoyed the games,and the .delicious afternoon tea. The winners of the games were Alesdamcs Cusack, Pearson, Campbell and Buckmaster, who received handsome gifts. At the conclusion of a happy afternoon a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Airs. AIcG ill and Airs. Walker.

Two interesting speakers will address to-day’s meeting of the Women’s Social Progress Movement at the Pavilion, Seatoun. Airs. Robert Blair will speak on ‘.‘Outstanding "Women I Have Known,” and Afiss Alary Richmond on “What is Progress?’’ Both have had much experience of other countries, and are intelligent observers.
