ART UNION PROFITS
Cricket and Soccer £6700 TO EACH It was reported to the council of the New Zealand Football Association last evening that the art union for the benefit of the New Zealand Cricket Association and the New Zealand Football Association had brought in £13,400, which would mean £6700 for each body. The news was very heartily received by the council, and the matter of investing the amount was placed in the hands of'a special committe<Mr B. L. Salmon, vice-chairman, expressed the council’s appreciation of the hard work done by the chairman, Mr. B. Campbell, in carrying through the art union, which would be of such great bene* fit to the association. The council asked his acceptance of a gold watch as a mark of esteem and good-will. ’ ■ Mr. Campbell said that he was glad that the cricket association had received such substantial help ah well its their own organisation. Messrs. Milburn and Kenai had rendered help whenever required. He greatly appreciated the gift. The New Zealand Cricket Association has presented a silver tea service to Mr. Campbell in recognition of his services in bringing the art union to such a suc- • eessful issue.
