PROVINCIAL ITEMS
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Watson are Wellington visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Neame, Castlecliff, Wanganui, are visiting Hastings. Mrs. Broderick and Miss Broderick, Wanganui, are visiting Mrs. W. M. Winks, Hawera. Mr- and Mrs. N. Philips, Wellington, are visiting Wanganui. Mrs. Bartlett who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. A. Neame, Wanganui, has returned to Nelson. Mrs. F. Searle has returned to Wanganui from Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. It. McLennan, Wellington, are visiting Mrs. C. T. Young, Wanganui.
At a committee meeting of Wanganui women interested in arranging a cabaret and bridge evening in aid of the local Girl Guides’ Association, Mrs. M. B. Hirst was elected honorary secretary. Commander 11. L. Morgan, D. 5.0., and the wardroom officers of H.M.S. Veronica, will be the guests of the committee. Mrs. C. Stevens, Feilding, is visiting her sister, Mrs. W. Page, Hunterville. The first of a series of card evenings to be held during the winter by St. Peter’s (Wanganui) parishioners, was held in the parish hall on . Saturday evening. The winners were Miss Smales and Mr. Thurston, and consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs. Gallen and Mrs. Reynolds.
