GLIDING ASSOCIATION
Formation Mooted Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, May 1. The question of the formation of a New Zealand Gliding Association, comprising nil clubs in the Dominion, was considered at a meeting of members of the Dannevirke Gliding Club. Members of the Manawatu club were present. Flying Officer R. E. Matheson, in addressing the meeting, urged the necessity for a gliding association in the Dominion. It was only by having such an organisation that gliding in this country would be properly controlled. Williams, and Major Hardie, of Palmerston North.- endorsed the suggestions made by FlyingOfficer Matheson. It was decided to set up a provisional committee to consider the question ,of forming a New Zealand Gliding Association. The committee appointed—Dr. C. S. Williams. Major Claridce. Mr. Dearman (Dannevirke). and Major Hardie and Mr. C. J. Bosworth (Palmerston North) —will .get into touch with all clubs regarding their views on the matter, and will later, convene a conference to form the association.
