TAXATION ON LAND
Snowden’s Motion Carried London, April 30. In the House of Commons, the Chancellor of . the Exchequer, Mr. Philip Snowden, moved to permit the Finance Bill, to embrace the taxation of land values, though this would not operate till the subsequent year. The motion was carried without division. Mr. Snowden then gave notice of motion imposing for 1933-34 a tax of Id in the £1 on every unit of land in Britain. '
