Death at City Fire COMPANION OF POLICE A well-known figure in the neighbourhood of Mount Cook died at the fire at Maoriland Motors, Ltd., yesterday morning. He was “Spot,” a dog, which paraded nightly at the Mount Cook Police Station, filed out with the patrol, spent the night out on the beats, and disappeared in the morning. “Spot” was watching at the fire when lie was run over by a motor-car. A police officer went to him immediately after the accident, but the dog was beyond aid. He was sadly missed when the night patrol paraded at 9 p.m. yesterday.
