CROQUET SEASON ENDS
Mount Victoria Club The closing of the season of .the Moun t Victoria Croquet 'Club was favoured with perfect weather conditions, and an attendance of practically all members. So many offers of prizes had been received that competitions started early, and kept the sports committee busy until afternoon tea. The tables were decorated with roses and asters, and were laden with delicious home-made cakes, tea being served by the social committee. Prior to the presentation of trophies and prizes, ■ Mrs. McGill, .on behalf of the members, presented the president, Mrs. Chirnside, with a bouquet of autumntinted flowers.'- ’ . Mrs. Chirnside announced the winners of the season’s matches, who were:— Intermediate grade champion: Mrs. Cleary; runner-up. Mrs. Miller.- B grade champion: Miss B. Langdon; runnerup, Mrs. Chirnside. Norwood Rose-bowl: Mrs. Cleary; runner-up, Mrs. Wickcns. McGill Cup: Mrs.. Cleary; runner-up, Miss McKenzie. Yankee singles: Mrs. Cleary; runner-up, Mrs. Chittey. Signet ring: Mrs. Bailey. . The results of the day’s competitions were: —-Angles: Mrs. Cleary. Clock: Mrs. Pearson. French: Sirs. Roffc. Peggingout, Miss A. Pole. Ball and hoop; Mrs. Bevan. Hurry-scurry: Mesdames Rowe and Bailey, who received prizes donated by Mesdames Cleary, Campbell, Thompson, Sliller, Wallis, Chirnside, and Miss McKenzie.
