Fruitgrowers Prosecuted “This is one of the worst cases to come under our notice,” said Mr. J. D. Kennedy, an orchard and garden diseases inspector, in the Auckland Police Court when giving evidence against Ethel M. Carter, who was charged with allowing her orchard in Huapai to be in a diseased condition. AVitness said the properly was very badly affected by codlin moth and the fruit was in a most unhealthy state. Defendant had been svarned several times,"but had done nothing to eradicate the disease. A fine of £3 and costs was imposed. Charged with a similar offence, Lewis John Ornstein, of Oratia, was fined £8 and costs,' and Edwin, William Clay, of Birkdale, £1 and costs. *
