CAUGHT BY TIDE

Six Waders in Difficulties

Dominion Special Service

Wanganui, February 2.

There were six people rescued at Castlecliff bench, Wanganui, on Sunday, two of them having to be resuscitated. The trouble was caused through waders, who were unable to swim, walking cut to a sand bank and failing to notice the rising tide. When they tried to return to shore the water was too deep. A man tried to assist them, but he was overcome and assisted ashore by members of the Castlecliff Surf Club, who also rescued the others.
