Wages and Living Costs

Sir, —As one of the thousands who are interested in the question, I would like to know whether it is true that in Germany, where wages have been reduced everywhere frptn the ordinary low levels, and are still being reduced, the only prices of commodities that have fallen are those of petrol and cement? If this be true,/ is there any guarantee that the same situation will not arise here, if we follow the suggestions regarding, reduction of wages in anticipation of a fall in the cost of liying? Perhaps the N.Z. Wei-/ fare League could have something to isay on the matter.—l am, etc.,

AN ENQUIRER. Palmerstori North, January 30.
