Contrary to general expectations, the entries for the Horowhenua Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s twenty-fifth ■annual show, which Is being held on the Levin racecourse, constitute a new record for the association. Opened in fine, though idull weather, to-day, the show will coti(clude to-morrow. The judges were kept ■busy all the morning, and until early in •pie afternoon adjudicating In their various ■Sections, while in the afternoon a series of ting events, including steer-riding, provid'ed attractions for those whose Interest qyandered from the Judging rings and cattle ‘pens. Horses, cnttle, and pig entries show an Increase over last year’s figures, and while there is a drop in the sheep sections, this Is more than compensated for by the large -increase in the home Industries and schools glasses, the total entries being 1145, an In(crease of 23 over last year’s flg.ures, and 'over 300 more than the 1029 total. ?. Ring events and the grand parade will -be to-morrow’s chief attractions. .
