LINDRUM HAILED

“Finest Living Player”

PLAY-OFF FOR GOLD CUP

(Rec. December 23, 5.5 p.m.).

London, December 22.

“The Times," in a leader entitled “Lindrum’s Billiards," expresses the view that the present tournament has shown that he is by far the finest living player. He has no equal in scoring power. His ease and rapidity are remarkable, but even more remarkable when the game demanded a supreme effort, it had the effect of improving the play of his opponents. A later message stqtes that Lindrum has drawn a bye in the play-off for the gold cup. He meets the winner of the Newman-Davis match on February 2. ■
