Christmas Cheer for Orphans.— Yesterday morning a party of members of the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association visited a number of orphanages and institutions in the city and left cheques to provide Christmas cheer for the children. The picture on the left shows a group of the happy children at the Salvation Army Girls’ Home, Newtown, scrambling for sweets which were liberally distributed. On the right is a picture of the party at the Home of Compassion, where the tiny tots were given dolls, which many appeared to find decidedly toothsome. —Staff Photographer
