Honours for New Zealanders
Dominion Special Service.

A total of 187 Rhodes were in residence for the academic year 102930. The British Empire scholars numbered 101 and 86 came from the United States of America.
The degrees,' honours, and distinctions list included some New Zealand names, among them being:— D.Phil.; M. Barak, 1926 (Hereford College), in physics. 8.C.L.: A. L. Haslam. 1927 (Oriel), second class. First Honour Schools: First class, jurisprudence—J. F. F. Platts-Mills, 1928 (Balliolj, Do., second class —C. A." Sharp, 1928 (St. John’s). The following were among those who proceeded to degrees for which they had qualified:— D.Phil.: A. L. Haslam and M. Burak (in absence). In athletics, W. E. Henley (1929) represented Oxford against Cambridge in Rugby football. For the year 1930, Mr. F. A. Taylor, M.A., student and tutor of Christ Church, was appointed to a Rhodes travelling fellowship. Mr. Taylor is a New Zealander who has had a brilliant career at Oxford and who included the Dominion in his tour. He has recently returned to Oxford from Egypt,
