CLUE IS FALSIFIED
Missing Miner Reappears
PROBLEM OF “BABY” CAR
London, December 3.
The identity of the blazing car victim, whose murder has led to the arrest and prosecution of Arthut Alfred Rouse, is made more complicated by Thomas Waite, . the missing miner, walking into a police station and reporting that he was alive. It seems, likely that the victim will never be discovered.
A cablegram received on Tuesday Baid that the police were hopeful of clearing up the mystery of the body found in the smouldering remains of a baby car near Hardingstone village, as after the discovery of the murder the disappearance from Brighton, on November 1, was reported of Thomas Waite, an unemployed Welsh miner, whose home was in the Midlands. An examination showed that the victim was a miner, and a piece of unburned cloth found at the scene of the crime corresponded exactly with the elothes Waite was reported to have been wearing.
