AFTERNOON TEA
Mrs. AV. Glendinning, president of the Arts and Crafts Circle of the Pioneer Club, entertained members of the circle to afternoon tea yesterday as a wind-tip to the year’s work. Tea was set in the dining-room, where the tables were decorated with Iceland poppies, and Mrs. Glendinning was pre-' sented by Miss Boyd with a large bunch of the same flowers.
Mrs. Glendinning welcomed everyone and expressed the hope all would conic next year prepared to work hard. She made a suggestion that prizes should be given for the best work shown at the annual exhibition. Two competitions were given on names of motor-cars and trees, and winners were Miss A Kane, Mrs. Le Cren, Mrs. Finlay, Mrs. Blyth, Miss Boyd, Mrs. Butler, and Mrs. Patterson. Afternoon tea was served and much enjoyed. Miss Kano, ou behalf of those present, thanked Mrs. Glendinning for, all she had done for the circle and Mrs. Le Crcn thanked Mrs. Martin, who has taught a great deal of new work. Mrs. Martin presented Mrs. Glendinning with a little box ornamented with Barbola work as a souvenir of the year’s activities.
