Play at Manor Park Although the overflow of the Hutt River last week did a certain amount of damage to the Manor Park links, this did not in any way prevent play over the week-end, a large number of members and visitors going out as usual. 'The course was in most parts covered with a fine coating: of dry silt, the flood having subsided in a few hours. This deposit is quickly being absorbed in the tt’rf, and will ultimately do a considerate amount of good. Most of the damage was done to the bunkers, but extra workmen have been engaged to effect complete repairs during the week. On Saturday, an 18-hole bogey competition was held, resulting in three player returning a best score of - down. These were Mrs. Butler, Brockett,, and D. Porter. On Sunday, a 36-hole medal competition resulted in a win for A. Murray, with the record score of il—oB (13V), reducing his handicap by one stroke. New Year Tourney The Miramar Club will hold a . tour-' nament extending over January 1,2, and 3’The Miramar open amateur championship will be open to the 32 entrants with the lowest handicaps, who will play off by match play over 18 holes. All other competitors will be divided according to handicap into groups of sixteen, and a competition will be held among, the, members pfl each group. ...
