District Notifications A sharp drop was shown in the notifications of infectious diseases in the Wellington health district last week, the number of cases reported being 29, as against the 30 of the previous week. So far as the Wellington Central district is concerned, diphtheria, though it still heads the list, has dropped from 8 eases to 5, while of scarlet fever there were 4 cases as against 2. Detailed returns are as follow, the previous week’s totals being given in parentheses:— Wanganui-Horowhenua: Undulent fever 0 (1) 1 pneumonia. 0 (3) ; diphtheria, 0 ’(1) ; scarlet fever, 1 (4) ; tuberculosis, 1 (1) ; erysipelas, 1 (0) ; puerperal fever, 1 (0) , eclampsia, 1 (0) ; total, 5 (10). Wairarapa-Hawke’s Bay: Diphtheria. 0 (1) ; meningitis, 0 (1) ; pneumonia, 0 (p • scarlet fever, 1 (1); enteric fever, 1 (0) ; erysipelas, 1 (0) ; hydatids, 1 (0) ; total. 4 (4). ' Central Wellington: Scarlet fever, 4 (2): diphtheria, 5 (8); tuberculosis, 2 (5) ; pneumonia. 4 (0) ; erysipelas, 1' (2): puerperal fever, 1 (1): total, 17 : Erysipelas, 0 (1) : septic abortion. 0 (1) ; scarlet fever, 1 (1); tuberculosis, 1 (1); eclampsia, 1 (0) ; total. 3 (4). Grand total, 29 (36).
