TWO GIRLS SLAIN
Murdered by Lover A MOUNTAIN DRAMA Vienna, November 26. Franz Khristlna, a Czech Government official, was the central figure in a triple love affair. A remarkably handsome fellow, he was charged with murder. He arranged with his fiancee, Elizabeth Matula, and a friend, Zora Klasovitis, to die together, as all three loved one another. They spent the day eating, drinking, and dancing. “We went to a romantic ruin on Calvary Mountain,” he explained. “The girls wanted me to shoot them straight away. ‘No,’ I said, ‘we well wait till midnight.’ Elizabeth asked to be shot first, but Zora pushed the revolver into my hands and said, ‘No, me first.’ Still I waited. Elizabeth said, ‘lt could have been over long ago.' All I know after is that I shot Elizabeth and then placed the pistol to my own temple, but Zora snatched it away. I took her head in my hands, she shut her eyes, and I fired. Then terror overcame me and I rushed down the mountain and surrendered to the police.” Khristina was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment.
