RECORD BROKEN

Clay-bird Shooting Oh Saturday afternoon on the club’s grounds at Taita, the members of the Hutt Valley Gun Club competed for the Tisdall Cup and for a trophy presented by Dr. L. D. The outstanding feature of the afternoon’s shooting was the excellent performances in the Skeet competition of Messrs. H. Smith and A. Scott. Smith established the record in the first round, when he broke 13 birds out of a possible of 16. and Scott equalled it by breaking 13 birds in the second round. The match for the Tisdall Cup was closely contested, and three competitors, Dr. Anson. H, Dennison and S. Tisdall all finished equal with 14 birds out of a possible 15. The shoot-off resulted in A. Dennison winning on the sixth extra bird. Dr. Anson finished second and S. Tisdall third. The match for Dr. L. D. Cohen’s tronhy consisted of two rounds of Skeet, The winner, H. Smith, followed up his first round of 13 birds with 12 birds in the second round. Lieut,-Commander W. H. BremnCr, R.N., in his first appearance in a. Skeet match, broke 22 birds and filled second place. A. ScOtt was third with 21 birds to his credit. Considering tho fact that this form of shooting is new and novel to the members .
