Land Agent Wins Case
Dominion ' Special Service.
Wanganui, November 21
His Honour Mr. Justice Ostler was engaged at the Wanganui Supreme Court to-day in hearing a commission claim between William Bruce, land agent, and George Thomas Phillips, farmer. The evidence for the plaintiff was that on or about June 14 ; 1929, Phillips instructed Bruce in writing to sell certain property of' his, being the subdivision of a farm property at Fordell. Phillips duly sold or caused to be sold part of the property of 266 acres on September 4, 1929, at £4O an acre. The commission as a result of the sale amounted to £305 18/-. Plaintiff claimed for this amount and interest, at the rate of 8 per cent, from the date of sale. . The defendant admitted'that plaintiff did certain work and wrote certain letters in connection with the sale, hut was pot the effective cause thereof. I Judgment was entered for £305/-18/-for plaintiff with interest at. 7 per cent, as from April 17, 1930, to the date of judgment, with costs according to scale.
