LORD BADEN-POWELL
Visit to New Zealand GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE The impending visit to New Zealand of Lord Baden-Powell of Wilwell, Chief Scout ,and Chief Guide, was mentioned at the annua] meeting yesterday of the Dominion Council of the association. Dr. P. Clennell Fenwick, C.M.G., Dominion Chief Commissioner, said that the. New Zealand Government had generously agreed to provide railway and motor transport, and had also promised to place Mr. Ardell in charge of tlie transport arrangements. The programme of the rallies was limited to four centres.
Dr. Fenwick said he bad tried very hard to persuade the Chief Scout to attend a rallv at Palmerston North, but he hud decided that this would entail too much extra fatigue. “I know, added the doctor, “that each Metropolitan Commissioner will arrange a rally worthy of li - town, and it is a great pleasure to us al that the Girl Guides are .P“ rt l c ’P a Kcf d ed these rallies.
