Yesterday’s Weather After rain in the night and early morning in Wellington yesterday, the weather cleared, and the remainder of the day was fine until about five o’clock, when a squall from the north brought another shower. Th.is quickly cleared, however, and the evening was fine. The wind blew hard from the north, but died down during the afternoon. For the 24 hours ended at midnight, 17 points of rain was registered on “The Dominion’s” yain gauge. A boisterous westerly wind was blowing at Auckland yesterday. Heavy showers were experienced in the morning, but the afternoon and evening were fine. The barometer had fallen to 29.60 in the afternoon, but subsequently remained steady. The weather at Christehurch was bright till the afternoon, when the sky became overcast. The maximum temperature wns 68 degrees, with the wind from the northwest. The barometer continued to fall last, evening’s reading being 29.10. The weather was unsettled at Dunedin. The conditions were overcast but fine to midday, after which several showers fell. The wind was light from the south-east, the maximum temperature, being 63 degrees. The barometer was still very low and fairly steady, the rending last evening being 29.10 in. .
