First Sheffield Shield Match

Brisbane, October 31.
The first Sheffield Shield match began to-day between Queensland and South Australia. Both sides are playing a number of i z men. Queensland, who is captained by Gough, in the first innings has Lade 271 for seven wickets (Briggs 10S. Thompson 78).
