OBITUARY

Dr. Brissenden

(Rec. October 31, 9.5 p.m.) Sydney, October 31. The death has occurred of Dr. E. M. Brissenden, K.C., at the age of 67 years, after a brief illness. Dr. Brisseuden was one of the most popular and probably the most picturesque figure of the New South Wales Bar, being a natural humorist. He threw up a large and lucrative practice iu 1916 and went to the war as a private. He became courts-martial and liaison officer. He declined a seat on the Supreme Court bench last year.

The death is announced of Dr. John Mildred Creed, a member of the Legislative Council, aged 88 years.

Dr. Creed was prominent in public life for many years, and was one of the oldest practitioners in Sydney. He was the founder and president of the Cremation Society.
