RIFLE-SHOOTING
SUBURBS CLUB The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club will fire its fourth match in its championship series this afternoon, at Trentham, on ranges' of 300 and 600 yards, 10 shots being fired at each range.
To-morrow evening in the Trades Hall, Vivian Street, Mr. P. J. O’Regan will give his third public address on the land question and its relation to the evil of unemployment. On this occasion he proposes to deal witli the subject historically, and the title of the address is announced to be “Private Property in Land Historically Considered.” Questions will be answered at the conclusion of the address.
Epsom, the famous racing town of England, derived its name from Ebba, a queen who reigned about 590. The place where she lived was known as EbbsHame. This became in turn Ebbisham, Ebsham, and finally Epsom. A message, nearly 1000 words long, all clearly readable, was embroidered on a square of cloth by a woman who suffered from the delusion that she was Eve. All the work was done under the coverlet of her bed so that her nurse should not see it
