Sydney, October 20. The “Sydney Morning Herald,” in commeriting on the Caulfield Cup, says that Amounis crowned his career by winning such a coveted cup in brilliant fashion. He not only carried the biggest weight 'ever handled with success in this race, but he took the title of the greatest stakeearner in the history of the Australian Turf. The race was thrilling from start to finish. The champion was last to the half-mile, and then began to show his true form and, with a wonderful burst of speed down the home stretch, shot past Soulton. to win.
