Abrasions to the face, concussion and shock were suffered by F. Underwood, of 40 Constable Street, when he tripped over a bumper on the Railway Wharf yesterday morning. He was attended by the Free Ambulance and taken to the hospital. The "Daily Mail” understands that the construction of the new tunnel under the Thames from Dartford to Pudfleet will be begun before Christmas. The tunnel, it is estimated, will cost £3,000,000. It will be more than half a mile long, and 50ft. below the low-tide level. A fine of 10/- was imposed on John Giles (Air.
