Messrs. W. H. Buick. George E. Allan and L. R. Walton will attend the Royal Show at Hastings, where they will exhibit stud sheep. Mr. L. S. Hebley, who has been attached to the Greytown Post Office for the last few weeks, has received notice of his transfer to Wellington and has left for his new position. Mr. 1). G. Riddiford, Marton, who has been spending a holiday at Home for the past eight months, leaves for New Zealand by the Rotorua on October LIT. Mr. Ernest Webb, the Dominion champion soprano cornet soloist, has returned to Wanganui, accompanied by Mrs. 'Webb. DAYLIGHT SAVING. The fact that clocks are advanced half an hour to save daylight reminds us that there are other channels in which a great saving may be brought about.
