BY-LAW BREACHES
Masterton Offenders
Masterton, October 17.
By-law cases were dealt with by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Masterton Magistrate's Court this morning. As the result of a collision in Queen Street on .September 13, James Henry Brooks was convicted of falling to give way to traffic approaching him on his right, and was fined £3 and .10/- costs. Stanley James Smith was charged with parking his car over a fire-plug. As it was only the second case of this nature that had come before the court, the Magistrate convicted and discharged defendant with a warning.
Louis Charlton Dawson was fined 10/and 10/- costs for leaving his car unattended. Frederick O’Connor was fined £1 and 12/- costs for having no rear light on his car.
,• Allowing cattle to wander cost J. K. Charters a 5/- fine, with 10/- costs.
Foxton Cases.
Foxton, October 17.
Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided over the monthly sitting'of the Foxton Magistrate’s Court on. Thursday. A. IV. Brewer was fined 5/-, with costs 10/- for riding a bicycle without a light after dark, T. J. Newth was fined £2, with costs 17/-, for allowing cows to wander on the Foxton-Shannon highway. Peter Richardson, farmer, of Ohakea, was fined £5, with costs 12/-, for falling to destroy rabbits on his property.
