Sailors’ Friend Society Appeal

Sir, —Would you most kindly allow me to appeal to your many readers with the hope that they will come to our assistance in a trying period? The piano now in use in our institute is one of two that we have used in 30 years, and this at some 1500 concerts. In addition to this it affords real .pleasure to thousands of men who'come to us on Sunday evenings at the song service after church. We have one on offer that can be secured at a moderate sum. We are also asked to take one on the hire system, but we have never allowed anything to be added to the institute’s equipment that has not been paid for, and hence my appeal to your generous readers, who have ever been ready to aid us in the past. Any sum, small or great, will be officially acknowledged. Thanking you in anticipation,—l am, etc., JAS. MOORE, Missioned Wellington, October 14.
