DUTCH SQUADRON

Berth To-morrow Morning

WELLINGTON PROGRAMME The squadron of the Dutch Navy will arrive at Wellington to-morrow morning, and will remain until Tuesday. The visitors will be the cruiser Java, and two destroyers, the Evertsen and the de Ruyter. Rear-Admiral C. C. Kayser is in command. The flagship, the Java, is a vessel of nearly 8000 tons, has a speed of 30 knots, and was built in Germany. Her armament is ten six-inch and four threeinch guns. She is commanded by Captain J. de Graaff. Both the destroyers were constructed in Britain, and carry four 4.7 and two three-inch guns, with two torpedo tubes. They are capable of a maximum speed of 34 knots. The Evertsen is commanded by Lieut.-Commander A. C. van der Sande Lacoste, and the De Ruyter by Lieut.-Commander J. van Leeuwem The personnel consists of 56 officers, one naval chaplain, and C<B ratings, ot which 265 are natives. The ships will leave Wellington on Tuesday, arriving in Auckland on Friday. and remaining there until Tuesday WeC ' Arrangements During Stay. Free, ships depart for Auckland. Privileges for Visitors. While here, the visitors will be given free use of the trams, the Kelburu cable car, the baths and the zoo, and on Saturday and Sunday, the Eastbourne ferry steamers.
