Yesterday’s Weather The rain which set in on Sunday, cleared up during Monday night, and yesterday broke fine and clear. A day of bright spring sunshine followed. A light wind came from the north. A dense fog prevailed in Auckland for nine hours this morning. It cleared at 9.15 a.m., and was followed by bright sunny weather and a light northwest wind.

Though fine and sunny the weather at Christchurch was somewhat cold, due to a chill north-east wind. The maximum temperature was 47 degrees and the minimum 26 degrees. The barometer continued to fall, the reading last evening being 30.18. Following a clear, cold night the weather was pleasantly fine in Dunedin yesterday, about ten hours of unbroken sunshine being recorded. The wind was light from the north-east and the maximum temperature was 50 degrees. The barometer was steady, the reading hist evening being 30.20 in.
