SUCCESSFUL SEASON
Star Boating, Club
A successful season is recorded in the report of the Star Boating Club, to be presented at the annual meeting on Fri- , day evening. The club lost the Redding Shield, but regained the Mothes Shield, which had been lost to Petone the previous season by a narrow margin of points. There has been very little alteration in regard to active membership. The J'lub’s total membership at present is 337, as follows:—Life active, 62, life honorary, 69; active, 119; honorary, 46; country, 41. The statement of receipts and expenditure shows that despite the small credit balance displayed at the end of the financial year, the club’s position is quite sound. The committee has reduced, outstanding debentures by £75. Owing to exceptionally fine weather being experienced at week-ends, the club
racing programme was most successful The club was well represented at interclub regattas, as a result of which it received £lOB in donations, which is the fourth largest sum won by the club in any one season. The plant has been maintained in good condition. Two clinker practice fours are to be deliveri ed early in the season.
