Iron Causes Damage

Dominion Special Service.

Masterton, August 26. At 9-30 p.m. to-day the Fire Brigade was called to an outbreak of .fire in a draper’s shop near the Fire Brigade station and occupied by Mr. G. Mclvor. The fire had not got a great hold when the brigade arrived. The alarm 'was given bv Mr. W. Perry, occupier of the next shop, whose building was slightly damaged at the rear, while stock was damaged by water and smoke. The cause of the’fire was an electric iron which had been left switched on. • Mr. Mclver’s stock suffered considerably. .
