PROVINCIAL ITEMS
Mrs. C. Ritchie, of Feathertsqu, has left on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. K. Arthur, of Martinborougb, has returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Williams, of College ■Street, Palmerston North, leave to-day on a visit to Wellington. Miss Rita Viles (Colyton) has returned from Wanganui, where she was the guest of Mrs. J. Coombes.
Miss Kathleen Tansey, of Waipukuruu, passed through Palmerston North yesterday on her return from Wellington. Mrs. J. H. Whyte, of Ranfurly Street. Palmerston North, entered a private hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Littlejohn, of Pibautea, Featherston, will leave shortly for an extended visit to Australia and Canada. Mi's. J. C. Riley, of Te Awamutu, is the guest of Mrs. Vickers, of Ormond Street, Woodville. Miss E. McKay, of Bideford. Masterton, spent the week-end in Martinborough with her parents. Mrs. R. Tennant has returned to Woodville after visiting her daughter, Miss Doreen Tennant, of Napier, who has been ill. Miss Margaret Johnston, of “Kamano,” Cheltenham, is leaving to-day for the Waikato, where she will spend a holiday with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. John Underwood, of Highland Park, Wellington, have been visiting Palmerston North, and have now left for New Plymouth, The Chateau, and Auckland.
Mrs. Stanley Harding, of_ Dargaville, passed through Palmerston North on her way to Wellington, where she will be the guest of her mother. Mrs. Turner, of Highland Park. Wadestown.
Mrs. T. G, Turner, “Waiou,” Hawke’s Bay. is a visitor to Wanganui. Miss Joblin, Waipukurau, and Miss Emanuel, Auckland, are the guests of Miss Turner, St. John’s Hill, Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Brose (Auckland) are visiting Wanganui. , Mr. and Mrs. Elkington are Wellington visitors to Wanganui.
Mrs. H. F. Christie presided over the monthly meeting of the Wanganui District Nursing League yesterday. Nurse Lee reported that she had paid 234 visits during the month. There were 10 new cases, seven discharged, three deaths, and 20 still on the list, Mesdames J. Hair and T. Warnock were appointed visitors for the month.
MADAME MENERE IN MASTERTON. Masterton ladies should on no account fail to visit, the great exhibition of highgrade Russian and Canadan Furs which is at present being held in the Central Arcade Hall (upstairs) for a few days only. This is without doubt the largest and finest collection of furs ever seen in New Zealand. Wonderful imported coats are being sold at less than is asked in New Zealand for common rabbit.—Advt.
