Saturday was a beautifully line day in Wellington, there being practically no cloud and a moderate n^ th erly breeze. During the night rain fell, but yesterday morning the sky was clear again, and the air warm but calm. However, a sudden change occuried, and in the afternoon the sky was overcast. A light southerly sprang up and about 6 p.m. there was a little hail and rain. Seven points of rain was gauged at “The Dominion” for the 48 hours ended at midnight last night. “Dominion” Special Service reports from the other centres show that the weather was similarly unsettled in all of them. There was fairly heavy snow at Dunedin yesterday. The wind was a moderate south-west at Auckland on Saturday, with occasional light showers. Yesterday conditions were boisterous, and the showers were more frequent. The barometer is falling and now stands at 29.90 in.
