YOUR BICYCLE.
Every girl or boy who possesses a pedal bicycle, will welcome these few hints on its preservation and how to get the most out of the machine on a cycle tour. Before setting out on your trip, your machine should be given a thorough overhauling. Bearings.—Frequent oiling, according to the mileage accomplished on the machine and the weather conditions under which it has been used, should be given to these. Chain. —This should be kept a little slack, but when it becomes so slack (as it often does by stretching) that there is nut a good pull on the wheel, take the chain to u repair shop and have a ting of it filed. Tires.—Examine the insides of the covers carefully, there may be minute pieces of sharp grit, or thorns or tacks .which will piny havoc- with the inner tubes.
Saddle.—See that Hie height of your saddle is a comfortable one. if you have to work from side to side in pedalling, your saddle is too high.
