Past Week’s Registrations There was an increase of 162 on the previous week in the number of unemployed registered in New Zealand for the week ended last Monday, according to a statement by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. S. G. Smith, yesterday. The week's total was 5609, and the details of registration at labour bureaux and post offices are as follow:— With de- Without dependants. pendants. Auckland 767 646 Wellington .... 471 285 Christchurch ... 577 383 Dunedin 264 150 Invercargill .... 92 55 The total for the five centres (with the figures for the previous week in parentheses) are as follow:-— Auckland, 1413 (1389); Wellington, 756 (633) ; Christchurch, 960 (903) ; Dunedin, 414 (384) ; Invercargill, 147 (164).
