The All Blacks continued serious training to-day, and will now more or less rest until Saturday. Players who wish to will play golf. There will be a team talk to-morrow night on the tactics to be adopted against the British team. Both No. 1 and No. 2 grounds at Eden Park were fairly wet after over-night rain, so that this morning's work-out was held on No. 3. The run was only a short one, but in spite of that fact some of the players said they could feel their muscles tightening up slightly on the heavy ground. Consequently the backs ran round more for a “breather” than anything else. . Porter, the captain, had his forwards practising line-out work, putting the ball at their feet and dribbling through. Then he made the forwards nack round the man who caught the ball from the lineout and heel the ball to Corner, who sent his backs away in a gallop down the field. High punting and fast followingup by the forwards was also tried with success. , Nepia, who turned out in the naming red jersey of Poverty Bay. practised place-kicking most of the morning. The crowd called him “the red terror.” Strang also had a few shots at goal. Messrs. A. J. Geddes (Southland). W. Maxwell (Canterbury), and A. McDonald (Otago), the South Island representatives on the New Zealand Selection Committee, arrived at Auckland by the Limited express this morning. Together with Messrs. E. McKenzie (Wairarapa), the chairman, and Nicholson (Auckland), they had a conference after training this morning. Mr. Norman McKenzie (Hawke’s Bay) arrived to-night.
