WAR RELIEF

Wellington Fund £22,000 The available funds of the War Relief Association of Wellington as nt June 30 stood at £22,040/17/1, announced the finance committee at the monthly meeting of the association yesterday. The chairman (Mr. L. O. H. Tripp) presided, and there were also present: Messrs. A. Mclntosh, C. Watson, C. M. Luke, Major S. J. Harrison, and Mr. A. O. Leach, secretary. The applications committee reported that in the twenty working days since last meeting 163 applications had been received. There were 33 claims from men who had not previously approached the committee. One hundred and two claims had been disposed of, and 20 were still under action. Since last monthly meeting, 309 persons had called at the association’s office, and, of these', 234 bad applied for direct and 75 for indirect assistance.
