Escaped Prisoner TRAVELLING SOUTH Dominion Special Service. Auckland, July 24. Information tliat Francis Gomez, the prisoner'from Mount Eden gaol, who escaped from hospital early on Sunday morning, had been seen in a motor-car at Kihikihi, near Te Awamutu, at about three o’clock on Sunday afternoon, was received by the Auckland police to-day. Since Gomez gained his liberty it was thought possible that he was travelling south in a motor-car which was missed from Ellerslie at about the time of his escape, and in the message received by the police from Kihikihi it is stated that the .description of the car he was. driving corresponded with the stolen vehicle. Gomez is stated to be travelling in the dirdetion of New Plymouth.
