Railway Cadet Charged

Two clever robberies, one recently, and the other some time ago, took place at the premises of Alex and Co., jewellers, of Farish Street. An arrest was made on Thursday night by Detective Kane. Edward thicker, aged 20, a railway cadet, appeared in the Police Court yesterday, charged with breaking and entering the premises, and with stealing jewellery of a total value of £4OO. In applying for a remand, Chief-Detective Holmes said that three other charges of breaking and entering were pending against accused. A remand until July 11 was granted. Bail was allowed in the, sum of £4OO, with one surety of a like amount or two sureties each of £2OO.
