WAR MEMORIAL CARILLON

At Hyde Park Until September

Advice has been received by the Wellington Carillon Society through the Secretary of the Treasury that arrangements have been made for the Wellington War Memorial Carillon to remain in Hyde Park until the end. of September next. The extension of the Hyde Park tenure will fit in with the earliest date that can be expected for the reception of the bells at the Mount Cook site. While it is certain that the carillon will be installed next year, the question as to whether it will be early or late in the year depends upon the progress. of the work of the assessors who are at present examining the competitive designs for the group of national buildings at Mount Cook.
