BRITISH SAILORS’ SOCIETY
The entertainment given at the rooms of the British Sailors’ Society on Thursday by the Toe H league of women helpers and party was thoroughly enjoyed by the very large attendance of men from the various ships in port. Supper was served, and much appreciated by the men. At the conclusion, a vote of thanks was proposed by the convener of the entertainment committee, and was carried by acclamation. Items were contributed by Mesdamos Harrison and Wrigley, Misses Mackie, Roberts, Francis (2) and Purdle, and Messrs. Harris and W. Kitchener. Mrs. Harrison and Miss Harris were the accompanists.
