AUTUMN.
Autumn has come, while Summer has fled To her home in the distant west; Autumn has come to reign in her stead While her sister goes ’.to test.
Her chariot of mist, all silvery white, Passes silently over the ground; Her milk - white steeds make no sound in their flight, As o’er hills and mountains they r bound.
Her dress is of leaves, brown, - golden, and red, '' And bronze is her long,' curly hair, Her eyes are as brown as the brown leaves dead, And her face is both rosy and . fair., ■ - ; ■ ■ —Highly commended, -Venus,” Levin (aged 12 years).
