Milk baths, wine tubbings, and all variations of water ablutions are well known-to everyone, blit it remained for a motion picture star to introduce a compressed air bath to the theatre-go-ing public. That honour goes to Maurice Chevalier, who recently completed his third Paramount all-talking picture, “The Big Pond.” It’ was during the filming of this picture that the French star had his initial experience witli this new cleansing method. In the action of the screen play, Chevalier appears as a labourer in a chewinggum factory. Powdered sugar, e one of the chief Ingredients in chewing gum, speedily coated the star’s clothes, face, and hands. At the conclusion of the day’s work, one of the employees at the factory in which the action was being filmed suggested a compressed air bath as the best means of removing the accumulated sugar, and led the way to one of the factory’s many air tubes, installed for this purpose. And now, through the medium of the screen, Chevalier will introduce it to the rest o£ Um world.
