THREAT OF TROUBLE
Coal-owners and Workers SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, June 13. With the threat of strike looming over the coal mine industry on the West Coast, special importance is attached to a conference held in Christchurch to-day between representatives of the Mine Owners’ Association and the United Mine Workers of New Zealand. From inquiries made at the luncheon adjournment it was ascertained that very satisfactory progress had been made and that there was every prospect of a complete settlement of all matters still in dispute being reached this afternoon.
