Captain Buckley’s Flight FEARS FOR AIRMAN By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, June 13. Flight-Lieutenant Buckley was expected to call at Blenheim on the trip on which he broke the record for an aeroplane flight from Christchurch to Auckland, and as he had not arrived at midday inquiries were set afoot He had not been seen at Wellington or Paekakariki, but had been observed during the morning between Kaikoura and Ward, and the report stated that his engine appeared to be running badly. At 2 o’clock the Marlborough Aero Club sent out an aeroplane to search the southern coast, but a quarter of an hour later advice was received that Flight-Lieutenant Buckley had reached Auckland. The search ’plane still continued its hunt, as there were no means of recalling it.
